The Beggar (poem)
There once was a Beggar , who went through the town
By day asking pennies, by night a whole crown
He never had slept neath a fine feather bed
Nor lay his head down on a fluffy bedstead.
To no one he talked, To no one laid bare
His trials and heartaches, His troubles and care.
At death no one missed him, A small spot was gone
The night would not miss him, And nor would the dawn
